Pros
Having the blast room is great for someone who's new to the account since you can have more experienced people listen to your problem spots and help you figure out what the doc is saying.
Cons
The down side to having the blast room is that so much time is spent on trying to fill blanks by waiting for other people to listen, you're making very little money for the time you're putting in. I made more than $200 a month less during my time at InScribe than I did as a brand new transcriptionist.

Pros
It’s great experience for a student planning on going into a medical profession. Pharmacy, Med school, nursing students can learn a lot. You become close with coworkers and it’s an immersive learning experience.
Cons
Long hours. Multiple 12 hours shifts a week, night and day in same week. Working holidays like Christmas. Staying over extra hours to finish charting. Little to no flexibility if you’re sick. We’ve had scribes vomiting or diagnosed with pneumonia that were ordered to come to work or risk being fined a fee. You sign a legal contract stating you must work there at least a year or risk being fined. No extra pay for weekends or night shift. Things are looking progressively better since they hired HR though.
