Cons

The CEO and CAO behave as though they own employees’ lives. They constantly monitor people through CCTV cameras, tracking who is sitting near deck and for how long. I’m not exaggerating, this genuinely seems to be a full-time activity. The culture is deeply toxic and built around gaslighting. If you don’t work 12+ hours a day or survive on less than 5 hours of sleep, you’re labeled as “not hardworking enough.” If you challenge client-service based decisions, you’re told you “don’t understand the strategy.” If you raise concerns about nepotism or office politics, the response is essentially, “That’s how the world works, deal with it.” You literally live with constant fear, disrespect. The favoritism is impossible to ignore. Certain “favored” employees with barely 1-2 years of experience are put in positions where they dictate work. Decisions are often based on no logic, and strategies change every few hours, making it nearly impossible to execute effectively. Overall, it’s one of the worst workplaces I’ve experienced. The company lacks a clear vision, has no coherent product strategy, and creates an environment that steadily damages employees’ mental well-being. Company focused on cab services and food as they are run by CEO CAO relatives making them their core earning from running this company.

Thank you for your feedback. At HiLabs, we hold ourselves to high standards of leadership, culture, and professional conduct, and we're proud of the team and environment we've built. The claims made in this review do not reflect the experience of the overwhelming majority of our employees, nor do they align with how our organization operates day-to-day. Our leadership team is deeply engaged in the business, the people, and the outcomes we drive, and decisions are made with a focus on long-term impact, accountability, and performance. HiLabs is a company with a defined mission, a strong product roadmap, and a growing client base that continues to place trust in the quality of our work. The characterization presented here is unrecognizable to us and to the many talented professionals who have chosen to build successful careers at HiLabs. We remain focused on execution, innovation, and fostering an environment where high-performing teams can thrive.

Toxic Work Culture, Unstable Leadership, & Hire & Fire

Pros

1. Great place to improve your interview skills quickly because you may need them sooner than expected. 2. You learn to keep your resume updated at all times - an underrated professional habit. 3. Excellent environment to understand the true meaning of “job uncertainty” in real time. 4. Fastest onboarding-to-exit exposure I’ve ever seen, the company truly values speed and agility. 5. You’ll build strong networking skills because many employees leave so fast that LinkedIn becomes the primary workplace. 6. If you survive here for a year, every other company will feel peaceful and well-organized. 7. Teaches you how to spot red flags in organizations within a few weeks instead of a few years.

Cons

1. Please don’t blindly trust the overly positive reviews. Many of them feel disconnected from the actual employee experience. 2. Layoffs and terminations happen so frequently that employees almost start tracking them like monthly subscriptions. Job security is practically non-existent. 3. Attrition is unbelievably high. 4. I’ve personally seen several smart and talented people resign within just 2–3 weeks of joining. Probably the quickest realization phase I’ve ever witnessed. Lucky are the ones who identify the reality early and move on fast. 5. Leadership culture is heavily top-down, with excessive micromanagement and very little transparency or employee empowerment. 6. The organization lacks proper structure, stable processes, and long-term product vision. Most teams operate in constant uncertainty and pressure. 7. HR has very limited influence in improving employee concerns or workplace culture. Policies and governance feel weak or inconsistent.

We've read this review carefully. Several characterizations here are factually inconsistent with how we operate and are not corroborated by the experience of our broader team. HiLabs has consistently attracted and retained exceptional talent, not despite our culture, but because of it. We operate in a demanding industry, and we hold ourselves to high standards. We have strong confidence in our leadership and the direction of the company, and the portrayal in this review does not align with the reality experienced by the broader organization or the results we continue to deliver. We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and building a high-performing environment where talented professionals can grow and make meaningful impact.
