Pros

Two stars is because there are fully remote roles which is a plus. Also, my internal team members are great.

Cons

This is an honest review of what it is like to work for Healthmap as of current, not emotionally charged in any way. I am a current employee, and have been for several years. Healthmap use to be great. I was sincerely happy with my job for the first time in a long time. Over the last six months or so, it couldn’t be farther from that. Feels like an entirely different company. Due to a recent “restructure” as they like to call it, they executed rather shocking layoffs. This created a sense of distrust internally. As this was not the case before, now, there is a clear line between the “higher ups” and the little people at the bottom. Employees use to be encouraged to speak up, now you can be screaming and no one would care to hear you. What was once a great place to work, is now your typical corporate business where no one feels heard or cared about. Procedures and expectations change constantly and negatively- with no explanation. This wouldn’t be a problem if the changes were positive, or made sense at the least. Micromanagement is growing rapidly. Seasoned employees are no longer being treated as if they’re trusted- circling back to the micromanaging. Many unhappy employees whether the “higher ups” realize it or not. Sad to see what was once something good, turn out to be just like every other micromanaged, mundane company out there. Ruined a good thing.

Pros

They pay all roles very well and have good benefits.

Cons

Though they pay well, the work culture is horrible. There is no work-life balance, even though the majority is remote. If you have ANY personal issues, they will lay you off because you are no longer assisting the company, even if you do not have personal issues (ex, you or a family member are ill). The best part is they will keep you warm and tell you that your job is not in jeopardy, but once they find a replacement, you will be laid off with the excuse of eliminating your position. While most people will write this review off as an unhappy ex-employee, I sincerely hope some will heed this warning. What I mentioned will/has happened to ALL roles within the company. There is also a significant lack of communication within the company. This company is reactive, not proactive; everything is a fire drill and needs immediate attention. If you are looking to stay with a company for a long time, this is definitely NOT the company for you. Their turnover is too frequent, and layoffs happen 24/7.

Pros

Company mission Salary Remote / Hybrid Role

Cons

As a current/former employee with direct insight into the internal operations at Healthmap Solutions, I believe that many of the recurring concerns cited in recent reviews are accurate and systemic. The challenges employees face are not isolated incidents, but symptoms of a broader leadership deficiency that begins at the senior executive level - specifically under the purview of Senior Vice President, Laura Betten. Despite the organization's commendable mission in kidney health management, there is a noticeable absence of cohesive vision, strategic direction, and consistent leadership from the top. This vacuum of guidance fosters disorganization, inconsistent priorities, and reactive management practices that cascade down the hierarchy. Teams often operate in silos, morale is steadily eroding, and turnover is alarmingly high. These patterns are not coincidental - they reflect a leadership model that lacks clarity, accountability, and empowerment. In organizational theory, it is well understood that leadership behavior sets the tone for institutional culture. When leadership is ineffective, especially at the senior executive level, dysfunction becomes normalized, cascading downward and affecting all workforce levels. At Healthmap Solutions, this dynamic is clearly at play. The result is a workplace culture that struggles with confusion, disengagement, and a persistent sense of instability. If these trends continue unchecked, the long-term viability of the organization may be compromised. For meaningful change to occur, the company must critically examine the effectiveness of its senior leadership and prioritize strategic, transparent, and empowering leadership development from the top down. Without such intervention, the cycle of disengagement and dysfunction will likely persist - with significant consequences for employee retention, organizational reputation, and ultimately patient outcomes.
