Pros

There used to be a lot of positive things to say until the new CEO came into play. Now things seem to be going downhill

Pros

This company used to be one of the most respected companies in Windsor. This company is good for starting a new job.

Cons

If you are an experienced employee and if you know you have the right skills set and experience then you need to avoid this company as this company is currently run by inexperienced CEO and EVPs. There are so many VPs and executives with fancy job title that are really not necessary for the growth of a company. For the first time in 67 years of company history, Union has decided to go on a strike because the company work culture has changed drastically after arrival of new CEO and his new inexperienced subordinates.

Thank you for the opportunity to address your comment. While we’re disappointed by Unifor leadership’s decision to strike, we respect their right to do so. We’re disheartened, however, by the extensive false statements Unifor leadership has been making publicly, undermining our proud six-decade history of partnership and collaboration. Our community deserves accurate information. We pride ourselves on integrity and transparency, and it is important that we clarify the facts, please visit our Together We Are Stronger (https://www.gsctogether.ca/) page. Our colleagues, our mission, and the work we do to help improve the health and well-being of Canadians is our soul, and we're immensely proud of supporting a workplace where purpose meets passion and performance. We’re open to conversation to better understand your comments, and we invite you to connect with our People and Culture team at talent@greenshield.ca.

Pros

Good pay, benefit package is not good but at least it doesn't come out of your paycheque.

Cons

CEO does not care about the company or the community at all. He loves to gloat that GSC is a "not-for-profit" company; however, he fails to mention that he started a separate "for-profit" company called Greenshield Holdings to syphon all of the revenue and outsource jobs to minimum wage contact centres. The turnover rate used to be 3%--now, it';s closer to 25%, although they stopped announcing when people left because I imagine it's too embarassing for them.

Toxic Bullying Culture

Recommend
CEO approval
Business outlook

Pros

The kind people who answer the phones in Windsor

Cons

Executive team is comprised of a CEO who has unrealistic deadlines, stomps his feet like a petulant child if he doesn't get his way and cannot manage his horde of immature ego centric EVPs who whine to him , gossip about each other daily through Teams chats and are obsessed with their LinkedIn profiles. They speak about better health for all but turnover is increasing, people are running for sick leave and they expect you to work around the clock to fulfill their non strategic direction that changes daily and on the hour. They spend an abundance of time crafting polished videos , press releases and LinkedIn posts to come across as kind, caring and compassionate while quite the opposite is true. If you want to be bullied by an EVP who more than likely does not deserve the level they are at or their promotion and wreck your mental health, join this toxic place. There is a reason the regular staff call senior executives here the snake pit.
