Pros

- Strong sense of purpose that feels real - Collaborative and respectful environment where people genuinely want to help each other succeed - Values are reflected in everyday decisions, not just stated in words - High level of trust and autonomy with flexibility to balance work and life - Emphasis on learning growth and continuous improvement - Diverse perspectives are welcomed and thoughtful dialogue is encouraged - A rare combination of kindness and high performance

Cons

- As with any organization that’s evolving change can sometimes feel complex or fast‑moving - Processes are still maturing in some areas which can require patience and adaptability - Collaboration across a large organization can occasionally take more effort and coordination

Beware of this company

Pros

Lots going on. I prefer fast paced companies, however Greenshield is something else... beware

Cons

At best this is a medium sized health insurance company, they are trying to convince themselves that they are a tech company. The structural pieces to achieve their ambition is laughably absent, most glaringly at leadership levels. Certain groups like product and technology have leaders who have no relevant experience for their leadership positions. The rest of the leaderships teams have all joined Greenshield in recent years having worked together in the past, which leads to irrational group think. There has been a steady stream of exits at the Director/VP+ levels, due to the unrealistic expectations of the leadership team. Take a look at the Greenshield+ app store ratings for a sense of how well their plans are going. Greenshield will hire someone based on their 15-20+ years of experience, but defer to friend's of the leadership team acting as consultants for decision making. Another thing is the questionable nature of the non-profit status of Greenshield. This is an absolute for-profit insurance company. The company also went on strike for the first time in its history last year. If I were to wager, all positive reviews are fake. Look at the remaining ones to get a real sense of this place. Beware

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience. While we can’t comment on the specifics about your experience, we felt it was important to clarify some claims in your review: Legally, GreenShield is Canada’s only national non-profit health and benefits company. We are proud of our 4.8 GreenShield app store rating, which reflects the impact of combining coverage and care in one place. Like other companies on Glassdoor, we do not condone false reviews. Great work-life balance

Pros

Very supportive culture and relaxed workspace. Decent benefits and pay.

Cons

The 2 mandatory days in office are more often used to sit on calls all day and virtually no meetings are held in person (could easily be done from home).
