Green Dot Public Schools reviews about "hour"

Understaffed, underserved, poor leadership, very limited course selection, unengaged parents, lack of community, mediocre college & career planning / guidance, lack of extracurricular activities and electives, disrespectful students who arrive tired and demotivated (perhaps because they commute more than an hour to get to school) -- many of them excessively miss school or stop showing up altogether. Do not teach here if you value your sanity.

Culturally & politically: feels like a closed loop, especially if you're not part of the in-group. Definitely gives off some cult vibes.

Long hours in class two hours

- 3 hours of professional development a week! - class times are too small. Students lose 50 mins of instruction a week, which makes pacing difficult - so much BS from headquarters. They keep you in meetings so much you can never get actually teaching done - prescriptive grading and curriculum policies makes it hard to have any freedom in pedagogy

High work volume, long hours

Long hours, hard work, high churn, high stress.

Long hours and curriculum is not the best
