Pros

Young junior members of staff make for a fairly good social element, on their own merit. It's really the people that make the place bearable. Overall however, I would struggle to name a positive thing about working there.

Cons

Senior management get promoted based on length-of-service, rather than ability, leaving an array of senior management who are incompetent, with very poor management skills. Little to no communication from management to junior members of staff. The CEO doesn't hold meetings with or mingle with junior members of staff. The owner of the company is terrifying and bullies members of staff, barking orders at them. The company is trying to save money on the smallest things, as new directors have been brought in, rather than strategising on how to earn more money. Sales promise the moon and the stars to sponsors to make a sale, including the promise of full delegate lists, however when the event day comes, there is simply a blind delegate list for sponsors. The company claims this is due to "data protection" laws, however a full delegate list can be bought for an extra price! Absolutely no social outings, team building exercises or staff perks for staff. The only "perk" is a pension (which is a legal requirement) and childcare vouchers - despite the fact that most staff do not have children. The CEO makes more than 20x the average of the staff member's pay, and her first act as CEO was to cut budgets to extreme measures. The office is a place of total misery, with staff members leaving at a ridiculous rate. There are at least 6 people leaving a month - which is a crazy number for a small - medium size company! Nothing is being said to address this. They claim pay is "competitive", however, it does not align with competitor's pay or the job market for that role.

Pros

Being able to hand in your notice Central location of offices They often pay well because they struggle to recruit and retain staff

Cons

Incredibly high staff turnover from all departments Clueless managers who don't have the relevant experience to do their roles An inner circle of minions controlled by the owner who has created an "us vs them' culture. The owner is a manipulative bully Finger pointing and blame a daily occurrence with no leadership to drive anything forward. The company always claims to 'be changing' but this record has been playing for years.
