Thank you for sharing your feedback about Formlabs. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed our best in class products, the challenge of your work, and most importantly, our people. Also, we thank you for sharing your perspective on the areas for improvement. We understand that good work life balance looks different for everyone. We hire passionate people who truly enjoy the work, and sometimes we do see people working evenings or weekends. However, employees on most teams are empowered to set their own working hours, and sometimes work and life outside overlap. We are committed to supporting our employees' well-being, and fostering a respectful and inclusive culture, where employees feel recognized, appreciated and incentivized for their work and contributions. We continuously assess what actions need to be taken in order to make Formlabs w place where our employees are happy and proud to work.

Pros

Nothing - very basic perks that are not good at all. Food is bad, all other perks not worth it and salary is way under market. I was going to say good team - but they all left.

Cons

-Terrible Management -Zero focused on morale - wants to hire, but fire more people. -Grind culture : expect to grind, work hard and def will fire you if you dont meet expectations (that changed last minute, just to fire you). -No Innovation, No Learning : You are just a robot doing what CEO/senior mgt wants. - No freedom : Forget that you have choice. They will say that you should be customer focused engineer, but they wouldnt listen to your voice. its just senior mgt, handling all decisions, and if it fails, they blame you. - No Flexibility: Forget Remote, Forget Weekends. You are just a puppet, who needs to grind. - Zero Retention: They cant keep anyone more than 2-3 years, bc they dont appreciate employees and their contribution - No Promotion: Even when everyone agrees, you can be promoted- you wont because they dont wanna spend more money and make you career better.

Thank you for your feedback. We aim to create a positive work environment where employees feel valued and supported, and we’re disappointed to hear this wasn’t your experience. In an effort to address some of the concerns you raised, I’ll clarify our company’s perspective. We’re proud to have leaders that stay close to the product and deeply care about our mission to build the tools that make it possible for anyone to bring their ideas to life. We’ve found this has been a very successful approach to creating best in class products that our customers love. We work to hire great people and rely on their expertise to navigate decisions and bring great, innovative ideas to the table. We coach our managers to recognize and reward great work through scope expansion, increasingly challenging/interesting work assignments and promotions. Additionally, we understand that good work life balance looks different for everyone. We hire passionate people who truly enjoy the work, and sometimes we do see people working evenings or weekends. However, employees on most teams are empowered to set their own working hours - the exception would be customer facing teams that have more structured schedules to support customer needs. Lastly, we are proponents of in-person work. We develop products that require frequent collaboration, team connectivity, hands-on testing and iteration. Our best work gets done when we work together. In an effort to make coming on-site easy and fun, we offer free catered lunch (from local restaurants) and a great assortment of snacks and beverages. We set up fun and engaging work spaces including a rock climbing wall, gaming systems, a dog friendly office, and events that bring us together and appeal to a variety of interests. We also have free parking (a rarity in Cambridge/Somerville) and we are positioned close to public transportation. People seem to enjoy coming in and connecting with each other.
