Good if your job here is your entire life

Pros

Bright, creative, and motivated people all under one roof. You will also work incredibly hard but develop some solid skills along the way. The work you collect for your personal portfolio will be phenomenal.

Cons

Your job has to be your entire life. They are not flexible on hours. You are required to put in standard hours (9-7) when times are relaxed. Be prepared for crazy hours when there's a deadline. Since there's always over-delivery, impending deadlines usually start weeks before the completion of a project. As my review title states, if you are 100% sure the line of work you do here is your ultimate goal, this is a great place. Otherwise you will burn out and hate life.

Culture is king.

Pros

The biggest pro is by far the people. Everyone cares so much about the work and each other, and it's truly different from every other agency I've worked at. There's a hierarchy, in a good way, but everyone is important no matter their title.

Cons

The hours can be long, but it's often by choice—someone wants to get each pixel exactly right or put in the extra hours to make something perfect.

Work hard, play hard

Pros

Firstborn is one of those places that a lot of agencies try to be but just can't...and that's exactly the point. Firstborn isn't trying to be anything or anyone..they're just being them, and its been that way from the beginning. Firstborn is a work hard, play hard kind of place and has one of those unique cultures that you only come across very few times in your career...if you're lucky. It's not contrived or manufactured but it just feels authentic and like a family...but not in the sappy sense. The kind of family that respects each other but also doesn't take your crap, that pushes you to do better because they know you can; and in the end you can see that mentality pay off in the work that they produce. They also just renovated a new office space that very much represents this vibe, particularly with the addition of Firstborn Brewco.

Cons

Its not a place to be if you just want to cruise. You have to be willing to work hard, put in the hours and make an impact.
