Pros

Overall good local people who want to do the right thing for both company and customers. Company car and M-F schedule

Cons

WOW... Where to begin... Supposed "leader" in industry, largest company, etc, but not demonstrated.. Lots of talk but little real game plan for action or actual action. No national or even regional SOP's for anything... Sales or Ops. Each district basically runs itself. Sales people can't sell value and sell on price. No knowledge of selling "features and benefits," only price. Very tenured employees who don't have the knowledge or willingness to embrace 21st century business processes. Account Managers went years being told they were doing it right.. Now wrong without changing anything they are doing. Major disengagement at all levels. To be fair industry is largely this way, but FM sales people are said to be worst by their vendors. Local vendors see FM as "discount," supplier who provides little value. Constant customer service issues from branches. Wrong orders, products, out of stocks, etc. Branch staff is largely apathetic to sales staff and customers.. Little to no training for employees, no real formal sales or systems training. Also very basic training for branch staff. In my case, horrible senior regional management that used threats to intimidate and attempt to motivate. Had unrealistic sales expectations which adversely affected morale and engagement. Spent little to no time in the field and IMO managed from "Mt. Olympus." WAY out of touch with sales/branch staff, didn't realize the limitations and needs of the employees. They were good at "high level" thought but zero ability to implement or motivate. Always changing "game plan," and speaking out of both sides of their mouth. ZERO rationale provided for any initiatives or game plans..

DON'T DO IT!!! Nothing matters to them but sales at all costs.

Pros

The 'best' reason to work at FM used to be that some of the many acquisitions that they made included good companies who brought with them good things. That is about all of the good I can come up with

Cons

First off... Pay is 'ok'. Benefits are 'meh'. Hours and workload are 'ok'. Insane amount of turnover. Everyone from the CEO of the parent company, the CEO of FM (who was a 25 year FM guy) and tons of middle management, sales support and sales people got cut at the end of the year. They replaced a ton of people just to save money. They do not mind seeing quality people go because they will just give them a reason to be ahead on budgets. ONLY thing that matters to them is making sales... And you think that's ok until you realize that you never really have a chance. The target keeps getting moved and you are only as good as your last sale. They talk this game of 'core values' but they are complete B.S.
