Pros

FLYR is building an extremely impressive and exciting product in an industry that sorely needs it. It is truly a data science first company where the "ML" label is not a marketing gimmick but at the core of the product. The people at FLYR are extremely impressive. Everyone I've interacted with is supportive, approachable, and incredibly smart. Great mix of people with deep industry knowledge and technical experience. FYI - It's a completely different company than what it was 2+ years ago (in terms of culture, product, outlook)

Cons

Work life balance is pretty good, but like any startup, there are ups and downs. The company and its customers are global, so time zone differences often necessitate meetings at odd hours. The company has raised a lot of money and is growing quickly. The product portfolio is ever expanding and the sales ambitions are huge. It's going to be a challenge to scale the company to support all of this growth. From what I can tell, the company is managing this as best they can, but it's a huge challenge.

An Utter Disaster

Pros

FLYR offers good pay and benefits. An interesting product overall.

Cons

Oh where to begin... The competitive pay and benefits do NOT outweigh the pain of working at FLYR. The business is heading in a horrible direction. After multiple rounds of layoffs and questionable spending practices there is a sense of optimism among the execs, but below that, it's dire. We have no idea how things are going in the business. This is a private company where transparency is key. Employees are left in the dark. Who are our established customers? If you can't share that with your employees, there are some major trust issues. The office politics are as morbid. Nepotism seriously damages the morale and makes it feel like merit does not matter anymore. Blatant leadership favoritism keeps the weak employees in and the promising ones to jump ship.

Pros

Good benefits Good tech stack

Cons

This company is laying off people right now, which is less than a year since last layoff. There’s no explanations from upper management despite sudden let go. They hired people just for pleasing potential customers and not caring about people, let alone career development. If you think deeply in the business model, you can doubt the necessity for airlines. And once the stakeholders are no longer satisfied current money inflow, they fired people. Don’t come to this place if you have other choices. Not much care and passion can be seen from people here.
