Pros

The office is in a nice location and the building itself is very interesting since it's a century home. Some people get to have an office, but you can't hang anything on the walls, which was odd. My coworkers were nice people, for the most part, and there were good opportunities for team building. It's a very young staff and I felt everyone got along. There is an emphasis on hiring people who fit the overall environment since the staff is small. Unfortunately, people tend to come and go, so you learn not to get attached to anyone. But I never had any issues with coworkers. They all worked hard and cared about their work. The company is very flexible. There are work-from-home opportunities and flex time. The benefits are pretty good for a small company.

Cons

I'd recommend staying away from Evolve. The culture is really negative, which leads to a lot of turnover. Many choose to leave after a month or two. Some just walk out. What I thought was going to be the start of a career ended up becoming a job I didn't care for, and I started questioning the company's integrity in a lot of ways. Having been at Evolve, I can say the negative reviews are the most accurate. At one point, employees were asked to leave positive reviews to offset the negative ones, but the owner eventually told people to forget about it since the request wasn't appropriate. Seeing all of the positive reviews above written so close together tells me that position changed. That's not surprising. The owner is a very difficult person to work with for a number of reasons. While I liked him well enough and felt he was a decent person, I wouldn't say I respected him. He can be extremely immature and narcissistic. I've been in client meetings where this behavior (and others mentioned below) carried through. I was personally humiliated and felt bad for the company. All in all, the owner is a big part of the reason why people have left and continue to leave. While the micromanagement and other things mentioned in other reviews are issues, I really didn't care for the way he treated many of the other employees. A few instances I witnessed really bothered me and began making me question why I was staying on. I suppose if I had to compare him to anyone, it'd be Michael Scott from The Office. There's always a weird, awkward vibe when you're around him. That's the best way I can explain it. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Evolve to anyone who really wants to make an impact and work autonomously using up-to-date best practices. There's a big difference in the quality of work being produced today and what was produced 3-4 years ago, it seems. I would have loved to have been part of the company when some of that work was done. At this point, Evolve is probably a good spot for a young person looking to get some relevant experience and quickly move on. I wasn't there very long, but I didn't feel like I was using anything I had learned recently. There are a lot of vendors, too, so there are few experienced people to learn from in-house. Those who do have experience have no time to teach. They're in meetings all day or are too overwhelmed.

Pros

Good clients, flexible work from home hours (if they like you), and fun culture

Cons

Working at Evolve was great for the first six months until we got a new manager. The job was relatively low stress at the beginning but continually became poorer and more miserable as a work environment the longer I was there. When asked what things I wanted to improve within the office, I mentioned being micromanaged and was told that I think I'm too good at my job and I need to step it down a notch. Poor communication in the office with little interest in fixing issues, nor interest in your growth as an employee. Don't work here unless you want to be treated like a robot.
