Pros

Beware of the recent reviews; management did initiate them to counteract the slew of bad reviews (and it shows). Sadly, there are not many pros to tell about Evidence Action any more.

Cons

The organization is still losing critical staff due to incompetent management. There is a big exodus: COO, directors, managers, including IT are all out. IT systems are in shambles. Operational systems are still extremely poor, and this can not be ascribed anymore to being a 'start up' after seven years in the business. Don't believe it - this is now nothing more than management incompetence. Worst: Data security is still not dealt with and at this point, this is becoming criminally negligent. Additionally, HR has ignored complaints of sexual harassment, and in this day and age, that is just no longer ok (if it ever was). It's truly a mess there - stay far away if you value your career.

Stay away

Pros

Peers were excellent... until they all started to leave because management was poisonous.

Cons

Program heads are small-minded, petty, vindictive and micromanaging. They are incapable of nurturing careers since they are too busy trying to protect their kingdoms - senior staff will not nurture and develop you. If you've got research ambitions or just career ambitions in general - stay away. Evidence Action is a mess, upper management is atrocious and you will get all of the burn and none of the benefit of a "start-up".
