Same "old" EQT

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

9/80 work schedule, 401k contributions

Cons

It's not a new company; they simply put lipstick on a pig. It's the same old EQT mentality of an old gas distribution company where customers are ignored and employees are treated like 3rd string benchwarmers. The same employees who do nothing to contibute to the success of the organization are continuously awarded for their sit there and behave yourself mentality, while others who attempt to offer innovative solutions are put in the corner and passed over until they quit.

Pros

The gym is nice and the cafeteria is convenient.

Cons

The company is so oblivious as to how unhappy certain workers are that they just asked for us to write reviews here on Glassdoor. You asked for it, so here we go. The CEO is non-existent and the COO appears to be dumber than a box of bricks. Don't know where the CEO came from but I'm almost positive that the COO is where they are because of how the company plays favorites. This favoritism goes back to the EQT days and still continues at Equitrans. All you have to do to advance your career here is say what they want to hear and do a bunch of brown nosing. It doesn't matter if you lie. And be prepared to be lied to. Want to get ahead at this company? Guess what! You don't need any technical knowledge. Just devise a way for others to do your work for you. For example, ask senior/more experienced members of your team for input on absolutely everything you do, essentially having them do your job. Then take all the credit. Yes, take advantage of others. Do the absolute minimum amount of work possible. But be sure to document what was said for when you'll need to throw someone under the bus. Trust no one. And here's the kicker: your production and contributions will be 100% ignored if certain people don't like you. Have new and novel ideas? Too bad (but be prepared to have your ideas stolen by managerial favorites). Disagree with how something has been done at the company? Tough. Safety concerns? They won't believe you. Just shut up and be quiet. Most managers I've worked with are completely useless and add no value. Some subtract value. Others are bullies and HR does nothing about it. On top of this all, pay and benefits have been drastically reduced.

Pros

There are a few nice people who are good to work with and if you want to own something, it's there for the taking.

Cons

Poor attitudes all around. Most people are angry and extremely stressed out. zero focus on retention and employee goals. Chaotic environment where everyone is empowered to do everyone else's job. Pay is not on par with industry standards. A job well done doesn't get rewarded. Rampant backstabbing, brown nosing, lying, game playing, finger pointing, and jockeying for position. Micromanagement Central. Lack of trust throughout the organization.
