Terrible management - Sales Director lvl studio Employee Review

LVL has some incredibly talented and fun people to work with. The staff here are hardworking, everyone is friendly. You can instantly tell which ones are “mentors” based on their responsiveness, willingness to answer questions and give advice. The “Veterans” at LVL are also a great source of information when it comes to process, feedback. LVL’s team of project managers amazing because they take as much care of their team members as their clients. HR & the social committee does a great job at engaging their coworkers by having office “ lunch & learns” to provide some visibility of projects happening, a band that performs at company parties, to game nights and 5@7. A+ on creating a positive work environment and encouraging work/life balance. Been at LVL for few years, I’ve endured the lows and can say that the company culture has progressively gotten better mostly due to efforts of current HR

Painstaking process to grow as an individual – it’s a battle to convince the upper management team to invest in continuous improvement or give a promotion. The mentality seems to be “If you are good at something and its efficient, why seek out improvements – it already works” Upper management bottle neck (this does not include HR) - Big pressure to be fill in timesheets each week. Expect a direct email from head of studio if your billable hours are not 40H - Poor Emotional intelligence - Conflict of interest between Upper management and HR initiatives - Too many file sharing tools - "My way or the highway" plus a dash of passive aggressiveness attitude

It’s been almost 3 years I have been working at LVL, and it’s the first time I have stayed that long in a company, which is an excellent proof of how much I love working here! Not only do I have the freedom to take initiatives, but I also feel strongly supported by my teammates and the management team. Being able to grow is extremely important for me and that’s exactly what I am able to do at LVL. I can do my best work and I keep improving and mastering my skills. I also love the fact that it’s not a hierarchical / corporate work environment, and that you don’t have to waste your energy pretending to be someone you’re not, which gives you way more energy to focus on your job and do your best to contribute to the success of this growing company. And truly, the people here are the best. Collaborative work environment, no ego, everyone is sincerely trying to help, and you never feel alone when you have to face challenges. People are passionate and are committed to do their best work, which makes life here really enjoyable :)

It’s really difficult to say, because if there were any big cons, I wouldn’t have stayed as long and wouldn’t plan to stay for years to come!
