Pros
Free breakfast, but it’s on a first-come, first-served basis. location near KL Sentral. Medical benefits are provided (only for staff), Good for those who want to learn more about fintech.
Cons
12 hour shifts are handled alone, with an expectation to acknowledge and address issues promptly.
It’s difficult to take annual leave because the team leader and manager expect you to always be available. Despite being aware of the shortage in headcount, the team leader is never willing and always unwilling to cover for you if you badly need to apply for leave. Instead, you are required to discuss with colleagues on their off days to cover your 12 hour shift.
During weekend or midnight shifts, any issues/deployment we need to rely on the manager instead of having the team leader step up and guide us. Since the team leader only works from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekdays, even though she is the leader responsible for the shift system support L2 staff under her.
Team leader need to change her attitude and leadership style because she tends to badmouth you to other team members. Be prepared for her to criticize you for not resolving simple inquiries, even though she herself often needs advice from the manager on issues a team leader should already know.
The shift arrangement is one of the most challenging and poorly structured I experienced.
