9ySounds like you were hired in a variable hour position, which can be seasonal. Your offer letter would have explained your employment classification (eligibility for overtime), status (regular, full-time or variable hour), eligibility for health care, and the eligibility requirements. It goes on to explain that a variable hour position is on an “as-needed” basis and that hours per week are based on each project’s scheduling needs. All unemployment claims are reviewed by the local State unemployment office after input by both the employee and the company. We appreciate your sharing your frustrations so that we can work to improve our communications.
