Pros
Remote work, somewhat flexible schedule
Cons
The SDR position is a grind, offering little to no fulfillment. You receive a list of outdated contacts to call endlessly for months and are expected to “keep people talking” while using canned prompts from Sandler or whatever the flavor of the moment training entails. You will provide your own computer which will be loaded up with intrusive software. Your clicks are monitored as are call counts. As mentioned the list of contacts you receive are OLD, so you are expected to mine LinkedIn and load new contacts/research companies/use ChatGPT/input data while maintaining 75 calls per day at a minimum. All that matters is hitting your call counts. Weekly calls with your clients and your sales manager for the account (ABM or CSM) can be an exercise in sounding important if you have nothing new to report. There is allegedly a bonus program tied to RFQs submitted but no one has an idea what the details are. The position base pay is hourly and very low for the expectations placed on you. IMO, the job is for new grads looking for a paycheck to start a career while looking for something better, or people at the end of their careers looking for additional income.
