Pros

Benefits, diversity and ERG’s are good. The product has potential but it’s not there yet.

Cons

The product has potential but is not there yet and as a result, Zumper puts the cart before the horse with the sales team regularly. The potential to hit revenue goals and earn a paycheck has come to a screeching halt for many since the leadership made major growth changes late fall of 2020. There’s a great level of fear with expressing what’s broken with senior sales leadership. When concerns are brought up, blame is shifted to employees and customers with no accountability on those who are steering the ship. A CSO who collectively tells the entire sales team “Maybe Zumper isn’t for you” is abusive and toxic. The turnover has become rampant with new and longer term sales employees. I believe everyone at Zumper wants the company to succeed but is afraid that at this pivotal point it’s not going to happen. Comp plans are changing quarterly and those plans not being rolled out until the quarter has already started. Sales team grew too big too fast before the product was ready resulting in setting most up to fail. Morale is low.

Thank you for your review. We acknowledge that we’ve had some growing pains recently as we’ve made adjusted our sales targets and compensation plans, but do feel strongly about this most recent change benefiting our team and commitment to not changing them again for the foreseeable future. I know these conversations are harder to have but our door is always open if you would like to discuss further; we sincerely appreciate the feedback. - Zumper HR

Pros

Some very fun, talented people. Good benefits and work/life balance

Cons

Zumper is in a bad position. They're rapidly losing market share (and relevance) and have really no idea how they're gonna turn the ship around. They're very reactive, are constantly being outperformed and out-innovated, all while laying off the employees that could help them make a difference. They're pinning all of their hopes on being acquired, but after a year and a half of searching, they still have no buyers. At this point, I'd put my money on them going bankrupt. If you're thinking about accepting a job offer from there, be prepared to be looking for another job soon.
