Pros

There's a talented group of people at Breakthrough, working hard to ensure that the quality of the work being produced is top quality. The work can be interesting and challenging. The building is in a good location and the pay is good.

Cons

There's a culture of fear at Breakthrough. People's jobs never seem safe (I lost count of the amount of people who were let go without warning). The company has only one client and due to the nature of the work a lot of information doesn't make it down the chain, which is frustrating and counter productive. There's a sense that the company is happy to put square pegs into round holes as a lot of senior and middle management aren't fit for purpose. Requests and concerns often go ignored and there's a futility in raising concerns as it'll be used against you later. The entire time I was there I didn't feel like I could trust anybody. Career prospects are slim as nobody has heard of the company and moving up the chain within seems pointless as there's a low ceiling. There wasn't enough work when I started, which carried on for quite some time. This meant that I was often left twiddling my thumbs throughout the day, and when I requested training for something (software etc) there was nobody to run a workshop and seemingly no training budget. Almost everybody there was looking to move on to something else, which meant the atmosphere was incredibly toxic. I feel sorry for anyone still there.
