Pros

The company offers 401k matching, health benefits, vacation and sick time and free parking. Most of the staff have worked here for a very long time (not sure if I'd label that a pro or con but management definitely views it as a pro). Beautiful new office with views and new workspace equipment. Positions are often filled from within when possible so there is the opportunity to move up if you work hard, it is a small office so this doesn't happen too often because there just isn't the need.

Cons

Management has not been able to "keep up with the times". Everything is done in a very old fashioned way like it's the 1970's, many of these practices and rules are probably borderline illegal by now, this creates an extremely difficult culture for anyone under 50 yrs old to enjoy. Examples are the restrictive dress code: Business professional attire is required for this real estate development office in Portland (seems uptight for the location and industry). No piercings, tattoos, unique dress, hairstyles or makeup are allowed. The gender pay gap is INSANE. If you are a white male over 50 you will succeed here. If you are anything else: you will be and will feel marginalized. There is no transparency as to why things are done this way, what goes into establishing employee salaries or bonus structures, why some people are promoted and others are pushed out. The company pays for some employees' education but not others and again: there is no known explanation for this. There is NO flexibility to schedule, most everyone is expected to be in the office from 8 am - 5 pm and those who are allowed different schedules are kept a secret from the rest of the workforce. "Salaried" employees are not compensated for anything over their 40 hour work week but must use vacation time if they work anything under, even after working consecutive 60 hour weeks employees are short-paid if they do not fulfill 40 hours one week. The majority of the workforce comes here only to collect a paycheck and admits it. It's difficult to impossible to find someone who is ambitious and striving for more (because that is regularly looked down upon). Employees are expected to show up, work quietly in their cubes or offices and then go home at 5 pm.

Pros

You get a day off during the week

Cons

Be careful on making your quota bc as soon as you hit big on your commission they will fire you before they have to pay you! Also every one is unprofessional and prejudice...they hire black ppl to handle other black ppl so they don't...vice versa along with latinos...very heart breaking
