Pros

Work from home and in-department closeness.

Cons

Do you want to be appreciated? Do you want to be respected? Do you like to be heard? Look somewhere else. Uninspiring leadership, deprecating draconian management and a great “family” vibe. This is what you can expect when becoming a part of the Zelus team. Upper management is not in touch with employees and shows no interest in doing so. There is no understanding of how the bread gets made, which leads to a severe misunderstanding of the job itself or the amount of time it takes to accomplish. The past 6 months have gotten worse for morale. New management has stripped any sense of comradery. The company once gave flowers to those who had big events happen in their lives such as weddings, babies, etc. It was a nice touch and added a sense of community. New management took it away stating, “We don’t give out participation awards.” Regardless, this company doesn’t give anything out. Bonuses, raises or anything a competent company would give you. CEO is looking to sell soon so they’re cutting corners on employee raises and pay to make it more appealing to whoever buys. Unless you’re in direct contact with management daily, they think you’re expendable. Many have already left because of this and many more will in the future. Management has installed monitoring software on every computer. This would be understandable if work wasn’t getting done or production was down. It’s not. If anything, more damage has been done with the loss of trust that came with the software. The owner has been bragging about how this is the best the company has done… I get that he worked for it. He built a company. I get it. That is an accomplishment but there were employees who worked weekends and late nights so this company could stay afloat. They weren’t putting those hours into their timesheets either. Everyone made sacrifices for this company to thrive. And it is now. People want to get rewarded for that. They want to feel appreciated. Instead, we get a “I don’t give a f***!” I think I’m right in saying it comes off as tone deaf. And yes, those are direct quotes from management. Oh, here’s another quote straight from management, “Stop s***ing off your clients!” Yep…
