If you don't fit in with the owner's group of friends and acquaintances, keep it moving. - Content Writer Youtech. Employee Review

Pros

The office and surrounding area are nice. Beverages are provided, and they offer unlimited PTO. The owner will occasionally buy lunch for the whole office.

Cons

Management sets unrealistic goals for production, forcing you to work an obscene amount of unpaid overtime hours. While a joking environment is advertised, it's mostly the rest of the staff making jokes about other people (sometimes at the expense of other employees), and they're quick to pull the "boss" card if you joke back and strike a nerve. There are few organic hires in the office, and it's easy to feel like an outsider. This is a group of twenty-somethings who buy expensive clothing and mock those without their fortune. They are the stereotype of spoiled Naperville kids. Those who don't fit in with the other people in the office are forced out regardless of their work qualify and ethic. They will set you up to fail so you can quit or be fired. Criticism is not given in a constructive manner. Instead of being sat down and talked to about areas where you need to improve, you're degraded in front of the entire office.

We're sorry you feel that way. By no means did we feel as though the job expectations were unrealistic, and we'll be the first to admit that we work in a fast-paced environment. We let all potential employees know that during the interview process. As for the rest of your negative comments, we're truthfully not even sure how to respond. All jokes are made in good fun, and any slight ribbing is always met with laughter from both sides. There aren't many companies out there that allow you to openly make fun of your boss, and we feel as though we're fairly lenient in that department as well. We've had numerous additions to the team since your departure, and all of them have blended in with our company culture seamlessly. We wish you would have spoken up about these matters before your sudden departure, though hindsight is 20/20. We wish you the best going forward.

Pros

Great people to work and collaborate with

Cons

Leadership structure feels highly insular. Upper management appears closely tied to the CEO on a personal level, which can create an environment where decisions are rarely challenged. This can lead to a lack of diverse perspectives and limited pushback on strategies or expectations. There is a strong emphasis on completing daily tasks and deliverables, sometimes at the expense of focusing on long-term, sustainable marketing growth for clients. The nature of SEO and digital marketing often requires time and strategic patience, which isn’t always reflected in workload expectations. Job security can feel uncertain. In situations where client accounts are lost, there is a perception that employees may be let go as a way to offset lost revenue. This can create a cycle where turnover feels frequent and new employees are brought in to fill those gaps, contributing to an unstable work environment.
