Pros

There are none. Simply none. Other that some of the other staff that have left can bond over the trauma and bad experiences they had.

Cons

Oooh here we go, welcome to the worst company going! If you have no morals, don't value your wellbeing and mental health, and you also want to line the pockets of a rude, unprofessional and childish CEO, you've come to the right place ! The office is a shambles, it's too cold in the winter, too hot in the summer and just isn't equipped to be comfortable and work properly ( but it's okay because there's a fridge full of drinks !) . The company lies to customers about buying them out of their contracts, they just work their buyout into the contract that yotel will sell them so they're technically paying for both without knowing. Also, 7 years is a joke for a phone system, its just so the CEO can milk the profits and fly away to some exotic place where personality doesn't matter, just the insta pics do! Speaking of the CEO, he claims he isn't materialistic yet drives millions of pounds worth of cars, flies in private jets, wears clothes worth more than his staffs salaries. Its just a joke. Saying he wants to do the best for people is a total lie, he's only in it for himself. He could sell one of the lambos, give everyone a 2k bonus at Christmas ( life changing for staff) and still have more money left than what he gives away. He sees no value in people and has often been extremely rude and nasty to staff. Not to mention spying on them with the cameras in the office. There's no progression at this company either. So if you want to be stuck in the same role for years, earning little money and lining the pockets of the CEO, go ahead. But if you value your mental health, have good morals and want to work somewhere you can build a career. Yotel is not it !! Also, don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews on here, they're written by HR after they get a bad review to try and mask how terrible this company is. Rant over, save yourself whilst you can.

Yo Telecom Response

We are responding to some of the comments made. We are currently developing the office and all employees have been communicated to. In warmer weather we have fans purchased by the Company in place. In the winter there is heating provided as the welfare of our employees is paramount. Mental health has been mentioned in this review and as a Company we support employees with paid time off to attend appointments and to work from home when required. We also have two L2 mental health first aiders present to support those who require any additional support at work. With the mention of charity from the reviewer, I would like to clarify our CEO supports a range of charities including donations for MacMillian, Teenage Cancer Trust and the NHS. The CEO has also introduced paid time off for blood donating and all employees can have 2 paid days per year to do volunteer work in the community. I will not comment on any CEO’s lifestyle in any Company, however I would like to finish by notifying readers of this post the Company and the CEO is dedicated to be competitive and has introduced some leading benefits including commission on a range of roles and bonuses which people are rewarded with throughout the year.

Pros

- Appropriate first sales job - Good earning potential with commission bonuses - Lots of opportunity to build workplace friendships, inclusive environment - Fun company events and incentives - Good level of support from HR

Cons

- Not much progression at all (unless you want to move into management) - A lot of micromanagement and individual pressure from higher-ups - A lot of verbal encouragement to reach targets, very little praise or reward for achieving them - Unprofessional and inexperienced management structure - Heavy focus on firing and re-hiring opposed to training and support if individuals are not performing (rapid staff turnover in ALL departments) - A lot of gossip and over-sharing of personal information I would have been sacked for poor performance multiple times, had I not managed to beat the targets I was given. Despite consistently being one of the top performers in the company, I would repeatedly have my job dangled over my head and threatened into producing results. Yo is a good place to start out your sales career but don't stay any longer than you need to. The pressure to perform and high expecations once you start doing well is not worth the money.
