Pros
I joined Y Scouts ~ 2 years ago after a career in boutique agency recruiting, professional services/consulting and eventually recruiting internally with a SaaS company. I was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug and actually left that company to start my own - I soon found Y Scouts and the opportunity to join a purpose-driven, transparent and optimistic organization where each employee worked ON the business, not just in the business.
We've learned a lot about business and our markets, we've continued to refine our unique approach to qualifying and aligning executive talent, and we're having a lot of fun doing it.
Our office is smack in the middle of Old Town Scottsdale, which is fun for happy hours and team lunches, as well as centrally located.
Benefits are competitive, compensation is above market and rewards both individual and team performance.
Cons
As a small and growing business, naturally, we're resources constrained. In order to be successful here, you must be a self-starter, take initiative and not simply wait for direction or training. We're doing what it takes to follow through on commitments to our clients and each other, which can mean longer hours, constant learning (figure it out!).
Growth opportunities do depend on the success of the business - as we grow, more opportunities will present themselves to the team, but if you're not stuck on title, there is a never-ending list of opportunities to work on projects outside of your job description.
