Pros
-Dynamic projects, nothing is similar to a past projects. So each one presents different challenges -4 day workweeks, can take Fridays off -Low travel after FAT -Needing to work over 40 hours isn't very common, but it will happen. -Engineers as well as the electricians and mechanical fabricators are great and easy to get along with
Cons
Salaried employees have to clock in/out, even though we don't get paid for overtime. Not sure if that's a trust or control issue, but it's ridiculous. CEO is 100% against working from home, even for half a day due to out of the ordinary circumstances. Despite all of us doing that during the early Covid months and doing a fantastic job. 4 day workweek only applies to taking Friday off. If you want to take any other day off, you have to use PTO, even if you do work 40 hours that week. Often times we are doing electrical/controls design while the process design is still in progress. This results in a lot of rework and aggravation.
