Highly political and partisan environment with lots of cliques Poorly controlled focal reviews leading to seemingly random pay rises/freezes Very San Jose centric. Remote sites are not respected equally. Constant re-orgs. You don't know if you'll have a job tomorrow. Do not stay here if you are not doing work that you feel will further your career, or unless you've made your bones somewhere else and looking for managerial work. I know SEVERAL very smart people who worked 60+ hour weeks doing dross work for years only to be hung out to dry by Xilinx. Some lost their career completely.
