Pros

Espresso machines abound. The building is well decorated. The dogs are well behaved. Employee of the Month meetings are usually entertaining.

Cons

1) LACK OF PROCEDURES AND DOCUMENTATION - Everyone does things their own way, here. I've worked for small companies where the constant state of improvement is appropriately described as "growing pain." Things are a bit different at Wyatt. The absence of clearly defined goals and procedures is made evident by stunted organizational growth. 2) A CULTURE OF YES MEN - Every new hire is given a copy of "A Message to Garcia" by Elbert Hubbard. The takeaway from this short story is that you should be a good little do-bee by doing as you're told and not asking questions. Wyatt Technology does not value free thinkers who challenge the status quo or feel strongly about developing solutions that address systemic deficiencies present in product design or operational procedure. Most wouldn't expect this from a company boasting contributions to "defining and redefining the state-of-the-art laser light scattering" technology. It is my estimation that senior management is feeding off the last remaining scraps of a 40 year old technology. Wyatt does not produce genuinely innovative products or refine existing designs to address the shortcomings of under developed ideas. Instead, the company focuses on quick fixes that pacify one need at the expense of creating challenges elsewhere in the interest of saying that something, not necessarily the right thing, was done. The results of this practice manifest on the manufacturing floor as a pile of drawings in scant detail and disagreeing parts where the technicians be like "WTF?"
