Pros
When I first learned about the internship opportunity at WorkSmart I was extremely excited. I am currently going into my Junior year at San Francisco State University with a major in Interior Design. Sadly, I have not been able to completely grasp the world of Interior Design, due to having to learn virtually and remote for the past year and a half. I had been feeling a little distant and confused on what exactly the design world meant and how it worked outside of my courses.
However, when I started at WorkSmart, it was a complete eye-opening experience and a total 180 from what I thought I knew. I am constantly learning new things every day and what it is really like to be an Interior Designer. Although, I am only working as an intern, there is so much that I can see and do day to day that get me excited for my future in the design world. From speaking to different vendors, showroom tours, along with learning and working with new types of products/ finishes I have been able to learn more in my couple months of my internship then a few of my online courses.
Since the beginning, the entire WorkSmart staff has been extremely welcoming and kind to me. Working in such a great environment is just an added bonus to this great job. If ever I have any questions, they are happy to explain it to me and help me whenever they can. I have learned so much from them. I am also glad to help them whenever I can. A lot of the things that I have helped with before were great for me because I had not got such hands-on experience or done anything like that from being in an online classroom.
I am thankful for the experience and growth this internship has allowed me to have and excited to see what ill do next!
Cons
In all honesty, I do not have any cons to name. Only that it will be sad for me to leave this great job when it is time for me to return to school.
