Pros
Comprehensive benefits system; most colleagues, regardless of department, are very friendly
Cons
The real issue lies in Taiwan's overall industry culture. Communication between different generations still needs significant improvement. The younger generation expects to understand the value and purpose behind each task—they don’t want to be treated as obedient tools. If companies don’t seriously address the communication gap between older and younger employees, they’ll either struggle to find the right talent or eventually be reshaped by the younger generation. In R&D departments, there’s a heavy emphasis on working hours. Engineers are expected to regularly track the hours they invest in each project. As a result, business group (BG) leaders tend to focus more on short-term strategies and profits, making it difficult for them to take a long-term perspective.
