Pros

Good benefits, great bonding experience for those in the marketing department who somehow survived the extremely negative working environment.

Cons

It's not a matter of "high standards" when there is an extremely high rate of turnover (A managerial position that opened up 1.5 years ago? two people have already come and gone for that position; The marketing assistant position? they are on the 3rd person this year). There is a long list of former employees who can attest to the fact that all of the negative reviews of the marketing department are incredibly accurate. All requests to expand your position more in accordance with your already developed skill set will be ignored. The micromanagement is extremely frustrating, making one feel like one's work was not one's own; there's no autonomy to the point where you must get emails approved before you have direct contact with attorneys. Due to the "leadership" structure, your requests to work on projects that match your skill set will result in the reassignments of the projects without even a word on whether you had time to work on it. You will be silently bullied into believing that you are not allowed to take time off, forget about having an appointment at lunch without having anxious fears of negative repercussions, and there's some tacit department rule that says you (illegally, mind you) can't bill overtime between 5:30-6pm.
