Pros

Good place to start a career in insurance adjusting, and learn a lot. They get you your license, and they train you. Small company, so you get to know every one. I've heard horror stories of severe micromanagement at large insurance companies, so the environment here is not going to be near as high pressure as what you will get at the big dogs. The traffic around the area is not bad. Most insurance carriers are around Dallas, where the traffic is horrendous. You are required to work long hours during major storms, but you get paid for the extra hours. They pay for your health insurance, which you probably won't find at large carriers, where you may pay $240 or so per month out of your check for health insurance. They hire people out of college and people just becoming professionals, so some reviews on here are complaints from people who have never worked in a professional environment like an office setting. I recall people getting spoken to by management because they were constantly on their personal phone or always chatting instead of working, or they were never on time. You are being paid to work, so they kind of expect that.

Cons

No company is perfect. Starting pay may not be as high as places like StateFarm or Allstate, but those places will work you for that money, so there will be more pressure to perform, and you'll be in lots of traffic every day.

Pros

Where do I start? So although not directly hired, I worked at Wellington for a little over six months in their customer care unit division. The job itself is easy after a month, I had a superb trainer! Let me just say that. The bedlam and the chaos came on the floor. It’s very cult like. One of the permanent employees said “hang in there she would go home crying every day for the first two weeks.” Nope! That’s not normal. So what was this about? One of the supervisors was micro aggressive and has absolutely no leadership skills and talks down to you to peg you down several notches to where you feel like everything you learned, is out the window. She even clocked out, walked around to my cubicle while I was on the phone with a customer and said how the customer never asked to speak to the supervisor, I offered. She then proceeds to put her finger in my face and click her tongue, turned around and walks away. She had also walked by one day and grabbed my sleeve and put it over my shoulder as if I’m a child. I reported all these incidences about this particular supervisor and the customer care unit. After doing so she was allegedly written up and when she came back, they moved me right across from her, which is the precise seat People are fired from. I was assured that I was fine after moving to the firing chair. They just wanna listen in on Me, I’m like OK. Long story shorter after enduring some humiliation rituals imposed by this evil spirited Supervisor, she did change, but it was completely fake. Everyone complained about how she talks to them as if she has no sense. It’s like you’re almost dumbfounded, like did she really just say that to me and think that’s OK? I knew after reporting this that eventually they would and my assignment, claiming it slow season and the insurance world lol. I’m nearly 40 years old and I have never in my life dealt with an environment like this! It’s very cult like, people are scared to speak up, and they thought that I would be one of them. But I spoke up about the hostile work environment, set by this one supervisors, and they mysteriously let me go. My performance was up to par, 100% on my task and 91% on my calls, I showed up and even moved and had my daughter change schools. I don’t care what anybody says, this particular Supervisor Rosalinda Smith does have a say whether you stay or go. There’s some loophole, whether that’s blackmail, s*x, or dr*gs bc its no coincidence I was let go, and ppl are scared to speak up “crying” for two weeks straight “ from the mental state the hostile environment created by Rosalinda caused. It’s really sad because you can tell the people who work here must’ve never had a job before because they reinforce it the bad Supervisor skills by saying hang in there. Hang in there as if it’s normal when it’s not.

Cons

Disrespectful, manipulative, cult like environment. Everyone is scared to speak up on the hostility and disrespect and the VP refuses to do anything about it outside of just letting you go if you speak out. Customer Care Sups NEVER answer, are EXTREMELY BIASED and have their faves - thats why the workers there are scared and say “shes like that with everyone” to normalize the behavior.
