Pros

There are no pros to working at Welcomm. Anyone still there should consider resigning as fast as possible. Average employee life...6 months.

Cons

There are so many - awful salaries - dreadful commissions packages- appalling management who are in it for themselves- the turnover of staff is huge ...I have never seen such a bad management structure in my life...the company will be finished soon...will make a huge amount of ex employees very very happy. Management spend all their time watching where their employees drive to on tracking tech. There are some great mobile companies out there...this lot are low life.

Hi and thank you for your comments. This review says that you were a Business Account Manager. The last person to leave this team did so in October 2017, so it’s difficult to place when you might have worked for us. First and maybe foremost, we need to confirm that the Company is not being sold and this could not be further from our plans. Out of 64 employees, 8 have been employed for 10-18 years, 10 have been employed for 3+ years and 17 have been employed for 1-2 years. Following our recent restructure we have employed a number of new people. In general our unplanned attrition rate has been very low over the last 12 months and we have seen people leave to go into different industries, some ending of placements, some for family reasons and some to be nearer to home. There have been a couple of instances whereby the fit a new employee has not been quite right for either them or the business as we, like other companies don’t get it right every time, so we have had to exit a very small number of employees in those circumstances, but we believe that we have done this with all due respect and care. We carry out exit interviews so we know why people are leaving our business and it does not appear to be for any of the reasons that you have listed in your review, so we are left a little bit in the dark without further specifics. Our management structure was changed (and I think this is likely to have been after you left) to ensure that we have the right managers in each area and at the right level to support our teams better. All Managers are embarking on a full programme of HR based skills training. Our management team (many of whom have joined in the last 12 months following the restructure) are embracing this and putting it into practice. We have introduced and are introducing salary accreditation levels to roles to allow staff the opportunity to have salary increases based on their upskilling and increased ability. These have been received very well so far. We do operate a car tracking system on our Company cars, predominantly to ease the recording of business mileage and for safety reasons but we do occasionally have to see and check where an employee is and will use the technology we have to track this. Do take a look at our website to see some of the community events that we have been involved in. You will also see that we have been awarded with O2’s Direct Partner of the year and we believe that this is due to the dedication and hard work of our teams. We have been celebrating this success with O2 this week. We are so very sorry that you feel the way you do about our Company which we are very proud to be a part of. We trust that wherever your career path has taken you, you will not feel this way about any other future business you work for.

Pros

Excellent culture with a lovely People and Culture team to boot. Plenty of incentives and genuine opportunity for someone with Grit, determination, and skilled at longer sales cycles. Company car and all issues with it were dealt instantly and the incoming management team has genuine vision for the business future

Cons

The commission structure is (or was, IDK if they've changed it since my departure) stale. In today's selling environment, a reward through even a small token payment can be a strong motivator. The sales cycle needs to be in the hands of the sales person, not 15 different teams and the weather

Pros

We have an incredible team where everyone is always happy to help and support one another. This collaborative environment fosters both personal and professional growth, making it a pleasure to come to work every day. One of the standout aspects of Welcomm Communications is the continuous focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and employee engagement. There are always numerous initiatives happening, from community service projects to environmental sustainability efforts, which make us feel proud to be part of a company that genuinely cares about making a positive impact. Employee engagement is taken very seriously here. There are regular sales competitions and team-building activities that keep everyone motivated and involved. These initiatives not only boost morale but also create a sense of camaraderie and friendly competition among colleagues. It's always exciting to see what new challenge or event is coming up next. Moreover, the management team is highly supportive and approachable. They are always open to feedback and are committed to ensuring that every employee feels valued and heard. It's a trusting atmosphere where everyone can thrive and there are always ongoing conversations around personal development, L&D is a big focus, where everyone can proactively upskill or cross-skill themselves and improve. Overall, Welcomm Communications is a fantastic place to work. The combination of a supportive team, engaging initiatives, and a strong commitment to CSR makes it a truly exceptional workplace. I am proud to be part of such a dynamic and forward-thinking company.

Cons

There isn't a downside, the care and effort has been and continues to be taken to make a supportive working environment where meaningful conversations can take place if need be.
