Pros

The training was very in depth and gives you great product knowledge. The training is also very good in regards to the "theory of sales" and how to make them. Great for a novice salesperson.

Cons

You will spend your days calling the same few hundred people four or five times each only to be told no every time unless you start in the beginning of the season...where else can 16 salespeople not make 25 sales in 6.5 hours..? The management will spend time lecturing about how technique needs to be improved even if the only calls you actually hear a prospects voice on are their answering machines. When you actually make contact you will hear either "I have told you to stop calling. Take me off your list" or " not interested" in both cases followed by a click. Why? The leads are prospects that are contacted five years ago and at least once a day every lawn season since. In fact, if they receive only one call a day they are lucky. This company's sales strategy is centered around pestering their customers until they buy to shut us up. The leads you will have will be people who refuse to do business with Weed Man not because the products aren't superior (because they actually really are) but rather because they actually HATE you.

Pros

Great family-owned company to work for! Very personable and supportive management. There is a strong sense of teamwork, and everyone is willing to help when needed. I have appreciated the flexibility and opportunities to grow professionally.

Cons

The busy season can be demanding at times, so priorities can shift quickly, but that is to be expected in this industry, and they help provide support and make it easy to adapt!

Pros

Training is emmaculate and you meet some great people, at first it seems like Management is there to help you.

Cons

Low pay… starting people at $14 an hour plus commission is insane, and saying with the commission it will make up the rest is also insane, you’re required to call more than 300 people a day, for every day you don’t get a sale they pull you into Zoom which is really discouraging because even if you get 4 sales the day prior they really think you’re doing something differently & poking at you to give them an answer.. manager will blame you for their mistakes or the lack of information they provide but will snap at you for not knowing. You’d think selling lawn care should be easy and laid back but they make you do a bunch of homework for every call you make or take, filling out 3 sheets, if you sell someone you have to go through 18 confirmations with the client, make them state their name & put a card on file… for $14 an hour you’re asking people to do a lot.
