Don't Trust Management - Assistant Community Manager Wasatch Property Management Employee Review

Pros

One hour lunch. Some bonus opportunities.

Cons

Employee salaries and bonuses directly affect the Regional Manager's budget, so they are not eager to give raises or incentives. Some bonuses are offered for acquiring new residents or getting resident's to renew their lease, but depending on the property manager, even if you take the applicants on a grounds tour and process their paperwork, the bonus might still get assigned to someone else at the last minute. The culture is very passive-aggressive and stressful. Budgets for low-income housing properties are so low that the properties often do not have enough money to purchase simple items like light bulbs or garbage disposals, in response to residents' requested work orders. Communication between on-site management and corporate management is not clear or frequent. Construction crews have been known to show up and leave without warning, tearing apart rentable areas of the property, with no communicated plan or completion date. Endless mandatory training videos.

Pros

My conscious has always been clear with this company, if any policy or decision didn't feel right upper management was quick to listen and adjust resulting in better results for our residents and less stress for employees. Lots of advancement opportunities and training from within.

Cons

High expectations to meet goals. Very limited flexibility with time/schedule.
