Pros
Hybrid schedule, flexibility, somewhat laid-back management. Good place to work if you don't care about your wages and just want to mindlessly float through the work day.
Cons
Insultingly low pay, ridiculous yearly PTO payout system, inconsistent work loads, little to no actual training, very unorganized, no bonuses, toxic HR.

Every employee that is hired negotiates their pay and vacation. If this employee had an "insultingly low pay" that would have been the pay that they agreed to before starting. If the pay was that low - why would they agree to it? The same with PTO. If they didn't like how PTO is paid out - why would they agree to it before starting? Waltonen pays at or above what competing companies do. HR is an advocate for the employees. HR negotiated for that hybrid work schedule along with all other benefits. It is absolutely inaccurate that Waltonen does not provide training. There is a whole group of employees that received free paid training upon starting (this is just one example of training provided). Waltonen is always looking to improve. It is a shame that this former employee did not provide specifics on how we can improve onboarding and training.

Pros
Waltonen is a great place to work. Our team is diverse and has strengths in various areas allowing us to satisfy and maintain strong relationships with our customers. We have team members of all experience levels, from entry-level to senior employees. The environment is friendly and I enjoy coming to work. Overall, it is a great place to work no matter where you are in your career! The company is fair and really cares about the well-being of its employees. Recognition is not a given nowadays, so it is great to feel that our work here is appreciated!
Cons
The endless construction on Mound Road is my only complaint.
Very diverse work culture with people from different backgrounds.
Overall it is a stable place to work. If you do a good job, they will allow you to advance and work on other projects/opportunities. Flexible with health appointments and other outside activities. Good benefits package compared to others in the industry. Diversified business portfolio. They do company events that make us feel appreciated, such as gift cards around birthdays, holidays, luncheons, monthly raffles, etc. Everyone is friendly and enjoys working together. Can work from home when possible, depending on the customer you are working for.
Cons
Your workload and schedule heavily depend on the customer due to the nature of the service business. Hours can fluctuate and be long during peak times, depending on the group you’re in. No surprise as this was covered during initial interviews. You do get compensated for the overtime and can make a lot of money.
