Pros

You grow close to your coworkers, creating lifelong friendships. Support good values.

Cons

I worked for this company for 9 1/2 years. I felt valued and appreciated from [most] of my managers. When I started to feel bored, they would help me find a position that would challenge me and allow me to grow. I found a home in the finance department - I was very close with most of my coworkers. I was promoted to a Senior Finance Specialist and then to a team lead. From then, however, it started to go downhill. I was experiencing a very rough patch in my personal life and they told me not to let it effect my work and to "leave it at home". I made some mistakes and was put on probation. Probation was "not allowed to work at home", so I was the only one forced to go into the office which I spent most of my time alone. I asked to be demoted back to SFS which they allowed, and I began to thrive again. When annual reviews came around, I asked about a raise, to which they responded, "if you want to make more money, do more deals". My mouth DROPPED. I was one of the top producing finance specialists... needless to say, I found a job that paid more and left. A few months later, they gave a warning that they were shutting down the finance department. They just recently laid off the rest that still remained aside from 2.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We truly value your input and appreciate your dedication with our company over the nine and a half years you worked with us. We are sorry to hear about the challenges you faced during a difficult personal period and how our remote policies may have impacted you during that time. Your feedback highlights areas where we can improve our support and communication, especially during times when our employees may need additional consideration. It was never our intention to make you feel unsupported, but more so ensure you were getting the onsite support you needed to continue to thrive. During the annual review process, we understand how important it is to feel recognized and fairly compensated for your hard work and achievements. We go through an extensive process to determine the budget and allocation of increases for all workgroups - some who are incentivized and some who are not. That said, it was never the intention to have that conversation feel discouraging. While the outcome of any monetary conversation may not always be exactly as we hope, we do strive to deliver those messages respectfully and with great context. We apologize if that message fell short. As you stated, the recent changes in the finance department have been difficult for everyone involved. We are working to ensure that all affected employees receive the support and assistance they need during this transition. These decisions are never easy and are made with careful consideration of the overall business needs. We wish we could have had more options. We appreciate your dedication and contribution over the years as well as the feedback you are sharing. We need to hear this feedback so we can improve our communication. If there are any concerns you would like to discuss further, we invite you to reach out to Walser’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Sherry Schultz (sschultz@walser.com). Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Lindsey Trett Director of Talent Acquisition Walser Automotive Group

Pros

Good training, base salary, benefits like health insurance, 401k. Good pay plan for high volume dealerships.

Cons

Pay plan is entirely based on volume, and some rooftops are doing in a day what others do in a week. Do your research as to where you go because you can't switch to another dealership until you have tenure. The volume at Toyota is insane. Meanwhile I'm next door at the Buick GMC dealership and our volume is terrible, and I can't switch for months. I'm likely going to have to quit.
