The workload is enormous. If you are unwilling to work more than 40 hours per week you cannot be successful here. Emails, slack, and other systems are blowing up with notifications one after the other with no downtime for head-down work. 40 hours per week has you quickly falling behind. Leadership asks for feedback and then gaslights when feedback is not all 100% positive. Leadership (that which is continuously changing) is constantly rolling out new initiatives and “roadmaps”, only adding more work without resolving any of the currently open tasks at hand. Nothing has been offloaded, only added. Managers have no stake in anything, making “talking to your manager” about viable concerns virtually pointless. Likewise, being a manager unable to prompt change after feedback is given by reports is disappointing and also feels pointless.
