Pros
None from the culture itself, only the technology and products.
Cons
Have never seen such unabashed self-love and pride for a culture that's actually a (poorly blended) composite of distinctly different cultures. Openness and honesty are not key characteristics of the organization, key leaders lie to your face without hesitation, let alone shame. Worst case of organizational insularity and NIH I've ever experienced, culturally conditioned to dismiss and denigrate ideas deemed to come from "outside", and/or that might be viewed as "better" than tribal knowledge. Actually saw a senior leader mocked for his efforts to upgrade key functions by leveraging methods proven successful in the industry - repeatedly, over months, though the person was giving everything to help improve an essential business function that was impacting business. Leadership seems totally unable to recognize, let alone acknowledge, that when things aren't going well, it just might be about them and "the WD way".
