We’re thankful to hear that you think we’re a supportive workplace, as it’s something we care about deeply across our 1:1s, meetings with HR, leave options, hybrid working, project distribution and weekly check-ins on bandwidth.
Regarding your criticism:
- Renumeration aligns with Payscale and is typically above market average. It’s negotiated with each team member at the offer stage and reviewed annually.
- Vidico was one of the fastest growing video production companies in Australia over the past two years. There are many levels of leadership at the company, and as such, growth opportunities in each role.
- Recently, most of the company including leadership took a day off and went on a beautiful hike together. Like you say, it’s a beautiful group of co-workers. Our leaders are people too and they spend a large part of their time listening in team meetings.
- Vidico only expects full-time team members to work hours as per the NES. As this is a national standard, we do not accept that this has been set in disregard for team member’s mental health. Both founders and managers have been provided mental health training, and have designed the workplace benefits in part from that training. Any overtime can be taken off or is paid.
- In the past six months, the talented team members you reference won Youtube Campaign of the Year and 5 Muse Awards. All of us are proud in what they’ve achieved, and believe their work should be respected.
- Senior management doesn’t sign off on creative and never has, unless it’s the occasional brief they work on or write themselves. The client will sign off on the creative, and always will. What you put forward is what will push the boundary.
- Up-skilling: for years, there’s a weekly team meet in each department to discuss level ups to processes and tools. There’s subscriptions to multiple, quality platforms for learning. There are monthly training sessions to talk critically on video. There is training, and there is a considerable amount of listening at all levels.
