Pros
- Take your dog to work - Generous owners - Flex time (lots) I do want to start by saying I adored working with Larry and Rita. They were kind, very generous with their employees and talented. Rita is a smart and amazing woman and I looked up to her. I truly enjoyed working for the most upper levels of management and would never say an ill word about them. BUT -
Cons
- No performance reviews - No evaluations - No job descriptions - No HR department - Management constantly lies - No follow through - manipulation of employees - Employee on Employee bad behavior and bullying is never stopped, is ignored and is allowed to run amok I don't even know where to start. The office politics are insane. The lying, the manipulation. People literally keeping tabs and files on each other. The infighting was atrocious. No one worked as a team and you could be as terrible as you wanted - literally scream and cuss at your coworkers and no one cared. If you are up for a promotion and someone thinks you shouldn't have it all it takes is one lunch with your director and it's gone and you will be lied to about what happened. And it isn't even a good lie. There isn't really enough work to go around but that doesn't seem to matter. If you don't actually like working this would be a good fit. If I hadn't shown up for a few days I'm not sure anyone would have noticed. Good work is never rewarded. Hard work is never rewarded. Ambition is never rewarded. Except for with more work and picking up the slack for coworkers who then talk down to you. Honestly I put up with all of it. I worked there for close to six years and did love my job. I loved the opportunity to expand my horizons, I even enjoyed picking up slack for other people because it meant learning about their jobs. I got to work with amazing and talented and driven people. But then the layoffs happened. 13 people gone in one day in an effort to save money and streamline. It wasn't a great sign. But what was more frustrating was the apathy of some of the management. We waited for direction and nothing came. We twiddled our thumbs. We came up with direction. A game plan. It was ignored. Communication halted and it became beyond frustrating. I walked away for my own sanity.
