I cried in a private meeting due to family issues and was told that they have to make sure their numbers look good before they can care about employees. Later in the year I suffered a major loss and since my state doesn’t require sick time, I was written up for having to take time off and told I need to come back with a doctors note (which is fine, just lacking empathy.) The nepotism is ridiculous in all departments.
