This place used to be great, but has collapsed since selling itself to private equity (Advent) last year, Top talent has left or is in the process of leaving. Compensation is not keeping pace with competitors, and the overall vibe (in Herndon, at least) is depressingly low.
The new leadership is at the heart of the problem. Leadership has been dishonest in their communications concerning raises and promotions, and has been vague and dismissive when asked by employees for explanations. I'm not aware of anyone that trusts CEO Dan Smoot, and much of the internal restructuring under his watch has exacerbated this mistrust.
Most distressing of all is that Maxar has lost it's focus on the most important aspect of our business: the success of our clients. The internal chaos consumes all the oxygen in the room, and while people focus on surviving or escaping the chaos, they are not focused on clients. And quite frankly, the quality of Maxar work over the last 6-12 months reflects this loss of focus.
If you're seeking a workplace that values its employees and clients, practices honesty in their communications and fosters a positive culture, steer clear.
