Pros
Some truly wonderful and very smart people work here. Unlimited PTO (if able to take the time off) and lunch budget are both nice.
Cons
Beware if you are considering joining this company. They tout a fast paced start-up culture where you can make a big impact. But loads of red tape and approval steps slow or halt many great ideas. Company is very unorganized and chaotic, but leaders in NY are blind to it since they think they are always the smartest ones in the room. However, they are all inexperienced and unwilling to listen and learn from others that have the industry experience. The Arizona office would take big steps forward, and then direction from the NY office would take us 10 steps back again. Decisions made by NY leaders rarely (if ever) had the employees well-being in mind. But they’d try to cover up and bury their lack of caring, empathy, or integrity with more unnecessary processes and procedures. Unrealistic workloads and work-life balance is a huge issue- and the NY leaders seemed to wear their long hours like a badge of honor and expect it from all. In addition, the majority of the pay ranges and benefits are below market/competition. My time at Valon was a low point in my career, which was disappointing as I had high hopes at the beginning. Everyone that I know that has left Valon is much happier now
