Bad leadership, great travel - Senior Coordinator VTM Employee Review

Pros

Opportunities for travel, accumulation of airline/hotel miles, and learning how to manage heavy client loads.

Cons

Worst leadership team I’ve ever worked for. 1. Lack of training, then pushing someone out/firing them when they sink under pressure. 2. Firing or offering pay outs and NDAs to employees who report harassment. 3. Not reporting illegal or inappropriate behavior from clients toward staff 4. High turnover due to low pay, infrequent raises (often $2k or less and often 15-20 months apart) 5. A lot of micromanaging 6. If you raise concerns or push back, you’re out.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. While we don’t typically comment on individual employment matters, we do want to clarify that this post does not accurately reflect the recent situation or the actions we took in response to the concern that was raised. Our HR and Legal teams conducted a thorough investigation into a report of harassment by a customer. To stop any possibility of further customer interaction, we immediately moved the employee to other accounts, and the employee expressed appreciation for that decision. No termination or payout occurred as a result of these allegations. We acted quickly and confidentially to address the concern and were therefore surprised to see a different account shared publicly. Our quarterly turnover rate has averaged about 6% over the past year. We typically provide competitive pay increases every 12–18 months, However, timing can vary depending on an employee’s individual performance or circumstances. While we do not agree with everything written in this review, we read and thoughtfully consider all feedback as part of our ongoing commitment to learn and grow as an organization.

Pros

Working as a Senior Account Executive at VTM Group has been a very positive and rewarding experience overall, and I'm grateful to be here. The team here is collaborative, hardworking, and willing to step in to support each other when things get busy. It is a professional but friendly environment where people genuinely want to do good work, and I've made some great relationships. I have felt very valued and support both personally and professionally along the way. The client relationships are another true highlight. I get to work with smart, motivated people from a variety of industries, and many of our projects feel meaningful, and it is cool to see the technological standards we build create amazing impact in their industries. The work can be fast paced and challenging, but that also keeps things interesting. To succeed in this role, you definitely need to have a propensity for multi-tasking, balancing priorities, and overall project and deadline management. One of the unique perks is the opportunity to travel both nationally and internationally for events and client meetings. Those trips have been great for relationship building and have added some very cool experiences and growth to my life. Like any job, there can be busy seasons and shifting priorities, but overall VTM has been a solid place to grow my skills and work with great people. Highly recommend!

Cons

Busy seasons can feel really busy. However, if you are proactive in communicating to your manager and team, help is always available.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback and for highlighting your experience as a Senior Account Executive at VTM Group. We’re excited to hear that you’ve found the work rewarding, the team collaborative, and the client relationships meaningful. It’s wonderful to know that you feel valued and supported, and that your role has offered both professional growth and memorable experiences , including travel and the opportunity to see the impact of your work firsthand. We appreciate your thoughtful feedback about remote work flexibility. While fully remote roles aren’t always part of our operating model, we understand that commuting and a balanced professional and personal life are important considerations. We continually look for ways to support flexibility within our office structure, and we truly value hearing perspectives like yours as we evaluate how to best meet the needs of both our clients and our team. Finally, thank you for sharing your thoughts about performance appraisals. We understand that at times, client work and travel schedules can shift priorities and occasionally impact the timing of reviews. While our client commitments are central to what we do, we also recognize how important timely feedback and career development conversations are for our team members. We’re taking steps to ensure that performance discussions remain a consistent priority, even during our busiest periods. Your feedback is a helpful reminder of how important it is to maintain that balance, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it.
