Not what it seemed - Office Manager VP Racing Fuels Employee Review

Pros

Competitive pay, a brand you can believe in, casual work atmosphere, tickets to events, understanding if there are personal, health, or family issues, although there are not enough people to pick up the slack since they employees are already overwhelmed.

Cons

The job description and the actual job are vastly different. Completely unprofessional atmosphere. Middle management interference is constant and I have been undermined at every turn. I was told that they wanted me to tighten things up and increase productivity, but the employees are allowed to hang out and waste hours a day chatting about any and everything with middle management. The employees skip my position to go to the regional manager, resist any direction, and are the most entitled and unproductive employees I have ever had work for me in years of management. I have been directly lied to by my regional manager, told what they thought I wanted to hear, and patronized. I handle things that are not in the job description, stay hours late almost every day, and still scramble to keep up. The company has outgrown their locations and the number of employees is far less than it should be, both regionally and at corporate. The short term numbers probably look great to the ownership, but long term the employees will burn out and feel no loyalty. There are constant, numerous mistakes that seem small but add up quickly, customer satisfaction is declining, and in my opinion most of this could be completely rectified by obtaining better locations and a few more employees.
