Pros
Pay rate, PTO, flexible work hours
Cons
Constantly changing metrics, management's inability to "stay the course", culture of "The Customer is King" with no regards to employee well-being, inter-departmental employee shuffling, constant looking-over-the-shoulder auditing (security), massive layoff and hiring swings, WAY too many VPs (must be two or three for every non-management employee) Fortunately, I worked in a support position and was pretty much exempt from the mandatory OT and strict work schedules that the other departments endured. I was in a reporting position, but keeping up with the daily (and sometimes hourly - I kid you not) metrics took it's toll. I had three bosses at any one time: a Senior VP and two VPs from different departments. Each had his/her own agenda and it was difficult trying to please each of them. The VPs changed as rapidly as the metrics. I worked at Urban for one year and in that time, I reported directly to five different people. Two VPs that I reported to were let go in the first few months that I worked there. That's OK though, they promote people to the VP position quickly. Take a look at the Org chart. Count how many VPs you see. it'll blow you away.
