Pros
Not being micromanaged. Chill co-workers. People keep to themselves and get the work done.
Cons
Most people seemed isolated, distant and/or stressed out. It's interesting work from the outside for fans of Upworthy but I found it to be pretty empty working on the inside with a major lack of community, equity and inclusive or any mention of DEI. Something feels off. It's a large media brand run by people who need ego checks. Internally, the organization is messy with scattered systems, communication lines and documents. A lot of leadership takes a long time to respond, if at all. While they mostly pay on time, pay is slow at 30 days after invoicing.
