One of the worst places - Engineer Upchain Employee Review

Pros

Some nice co-workers and team leads

Cons

Where to even start. Upper management would make horrible decisions and push the team to complete unachievable goals, even when team leads would push back. Development, product and quality is so bad because all is rushed. Everyone always hates their environment and afraid to loose there jobs. If a mistake is made higher up it is ignored. If someone makes a mistake on the team level, they are continuously ridiculed. This is by far the least professional place I've worked at in my entire life. People were yelled at and continuously put on the spot, forced to work overtime to achieve unattainable goals, and then a bunch of people got fired. A bonus for the overtime worked was promised and no one got it.

Pros

- Driven, empathetic leadership team. - Unique software product unlike anything available on the market. - Dynamic work environment. Flexibility to be involved in different aspects of the company. - Amazing work culture. The company actually cares about you, try to ensure there's a proper work/life balance. - CEO that is humble, and approachable. John is the workhorse that propels the company forward, but carries himself with humility, and cares for each and all his employees. - Comparable salaries to larger companies - The ability to make your mark on the organization. Every employees efforts and contributions directly impact the organization.

Cons

It is a start-up environment, but I don't see that as a Con. It gives each employee an opportunity to make their mark, not be restricted by roles/departments, and have a direct impact on the organization.

Pros

- flexible work environment - disruptive product that's long overdue in the market - talented individuals - high profile, high potential, getting traction with enterprise accounts

Cons

As the first USA employee there have been some challenges setting up things like payroll, 401K, and medical. Many people up to the CEO have put in a lot of work to make it as smooth as possible however. Will pay off when they hire the next people in the USA.
