Pros
At first it seemed like there was but it quickly faded like the oasis in the desert. Unless you like to gossip and create more problems while neglecting your own, not knowing what to do but act like you do, this is the place for you.
Cons
Professional? A small percentage of the company are in the right place. Growth? Maybe for that new employee that just got hired, the new project, or piece of furniture that just came in. Busy, no one else works your shift well good luck on finding time for vacation, bereavement leave, or even tracking if you even put in a request. More than one person had this problem. If something was amiss it will be swept under the rug and seem like it's clean as a slate. Bad communication, problem solving skills and bad management skills. Trust me on this. Agreed with previous reviewer. People are treated as a disposable resource & same with interpreters. Interpreters don't understand the difference between an employee & the paper they just signed. Read what your signing. These definitely need an update. Raise? Think twice if you did add value you won't get it because recognition from other individuals were only noticed. 3 month evaluation, never heard of that but an annual review, possibly if there is time...in certain cases maybe never. Selective in disciplinary procedures but another person can be doing the same thing and nothing is ever said or done. Review it with others because one person was most likely penalized for something you weren't. Make sure to document all occurrences because the likelihood of it being noticed or already known and not resolved is very likely. If you bring up a problem and even if you have a solution (even to multiple re-occurring problems) be sure to be tossed aside and be seen as the problem. So you probably will end up keeping your lips sealed or else prepare for a backlash. Takes management a long time to realize problems that are breaking the initial process which bounces into other departments workflow. Takes more problems (more than your common sense meter) to reach a realization. If you're colleague didn't do their work, you will be working on it as well as others. Might take a while for someone to realize. Like mentioned above. There are waves of people continuously leaving employees and interpreters. Horrifying retention rates in regards to employees. Many of those left or will be leaving because of lack of growth, pay, management and or incorrect use of disciplinary procedures. Trust your gut instinct after you're hired. Hopefully when you're reading this it's not like that anymore... Never recommend anyone here. Period.
